Soccer Recap: Shawnee Gets the Win

Botkins typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Shawnee proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Trojans. Shawnee found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: four Shawnee players were handed yellow cards.

Connor Hoops and Preston Brinkman scored both of Shawnee's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Shawnee's victory bumped their record up to 8-5-2. As for Botkins, they moved to 13-2-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-match winning streak.

Coming up, Shawnee is taking a road trip to square off against Ottawa-Glandorf at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Botkins, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Twin Valley South at 7:00 p.m. on the 18th.
