Basketball Recap: Herron Gets the Win

Herron won the last time they faced Indiana School for the Deaf and Cj Stephens did his part to make sure it happened again. The Achaeans took down the Deaf Hoosiers 66-49 on Wednesday thanks in part to Stephens, who shot 80% from the field to rack up 17 points and six steals. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy.

Another player making a difference was Josiah Clarke, who went 7-for-13 en route to 15 points and six boards. He has also also been stellar as far as field goal percentage is concerned: he's posted one of at least 50% every time he's hit the court this season.

Herron's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herron will take on Bethesda Christian in a holiday battle at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Achaeans will be up against the Patriots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 55.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Indiana School for the Deaf, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Cambridge City Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
