While Columbia's win against Loyd Star wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Hornets 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since February 14th.

The win made it two in a row for Columbia and bumps their season record up to 15-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Loyd Star, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will challenge Amite School Center at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Loyd Star, they will face off against West Lincoln at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
