It was a good run, but Ferndale unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were dealt a 71-34 defeat at the hands of the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams. The contest marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Ferndale's loss came despite strong showings from Chance Washington and Caleb Fenton. Washington dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while Fenton posted 12 points. Washington has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last seven times he's played.

Even though they lost, Ferndale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area was led to victory by Lance Jones and Bryce Nicholson. Jones went 11 of 17 en route to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Nicholson went 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points and seven steals. That's the most points Jones has posted since back in December of 2024. Zack Ryan was another key player, putting up six points along with eight boards and seven assists.

Ferndale's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Ferndale has already played their next match, a 58-34 win against Harmony Area on the 28th. As for Turkeyfoot Valley Area, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-42 victory against Blacklick Valley on the 27th.
