Page County has gone 9-1 against Madison County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Page County Panthers will take on the Madison County Mountaineers in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Page County will head into Wednesday's matchup out to bounce back: they won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 69-27 loss at the hands of East Rockingham. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Madison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Orange County an easy 71-46 victory. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Fighting Hornets are ranked 108th).

Madison County's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Page County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Everything went Page County's way against Madison County in their previous matchup back in February, as Page County made off with a 69-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Page County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
