Baseball Recap: Rocky Mount Academy Takes a Loss

Rocky Mount Academy came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Greenfield Knights by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Seth Tickel was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rocky Mount Academy is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-5 otherwise. Tickel was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Tickel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Creech-Jones, who went 1-for-4 with one run.

Rocky Mount Academy now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Greenfield, their record now sits at 15-5-1.
