Baseball Game Preview: Brandeis Broncos vs. LEE Volunteers

Brandeis is a perfect 9-0 against LEE since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Brandeis Broncos will welcome the LEE Volunteers at 11:00 a.m. Brandeis' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so LEE's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Brandeis' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against LEE as Brandeis made off with an 8-0 victory. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Volunteers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Tanner Hallmark made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over 6.1 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Hallmark wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Tello, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Tello has posted over his last 12 contests. Tate Williams was another, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Brandeis pushed their record up to 8-4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for LEE, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9-1.
