Basketball Game Preview: DuSable Panthers vs. Hirsch Huskies

The DuSable Panthers and the Hirsch Huskies will compete for holiday cheer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. DuSable is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.

It was a proper cat-fight when DuSable challenged Amandla Charter School on Thursday. DuSable put the hurt on Amandla Charter School with a sharp 59-36 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 23 points or more this season.

DuSable found their leader in sophomore Corvante Mattews, who posted 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mattews has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Malone, who had nine points.

Meanwhile, Hirsch took a blow against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park on Monday, falling 68-31. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

DuSable now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Hirsch, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

DuSable didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hirsch when the teams last played back in November of 2014, but they still walked away with a 66-60 victory. Will DuSable repeat their success, or does Hirsch have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
