Basketball Recap: Upper Scioto Valley Rams vs. Crestview Knights
Upper Scioto Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 49-21 defeat at the hands of the Crestview Knights. The Rams were down 39-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Layla Hunsicker was Upper Scioto Valley's leading scorer, having posted six points. Raegan Castle held things down on the boards with five rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Crestview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaci Gregory out in front who shot 50% from the field to rack up 12 points along with five boards and five steals. That's the most steals Gregory has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillie Best, who earned nine points and eight rebounds.
Upper Scioto Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Crestview, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Upper Scioto Valley and Crestview will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Rams will square off against rival Hardin Northern at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Crestview is set to take on their familiar foe Lima Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
