Baseball Recap: Derry Comes Up Short

Derry fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Highlands on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They came up short against the Golden Rams, falling 11-5. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Golden Rams earlier this season, when they won 1-0.

Derry now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Highlands, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derry will square off against Indiana at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Little Indians will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Highlands, they will face off against Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
