The South Central Falcons will take on the Farmville Central Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. South Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

South Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Jacksonville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-5. The Falcons' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Brandon Worsley put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Colby Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Meanwhile, Farmville Central and Wakefield finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday.

Farmville Central's draw gives them a new season record of 10-7-1. As for South Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. South Central has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Farmville Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Everything went South Central's way against Farmville Central when the teams last played back in April of 2022, as South Central made off with a 16-5 win. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
