Baseball Game Preview: Brentwood School Eagles vs. Coastal Academy Stingrays

The Brentwood School Eagles will take on the Coastal Academy Stingrays at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Brentwood School has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Brentwood School is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game last Friday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of Troy.

Brentwood School got a good showing from Logan Serpa, who pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Owen Boelke made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Hudson Chase, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Coastal Academy and Escondido Charter, and Escondido Charter kept the tradition alive. Coastal Academy lost 11-4 to Escondido Charter on Friday.

Coastal Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. Brentwood School's loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
