Baseball Game Preview: Westview Wolverines vs. Bellevue East Chieftains

Westview hasn't had much luck against Bellevue East recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Wolverines will square off against the Chieftains at 2:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Westview is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Elkhorn South, who was ranked 11th at the time (Westview was ranked 23rd). The Wolverines came up short against the Storm on Tuesday, falling 11-3.

Meanwhile, Bellevue East lost 11-2 to Columbus on Thursday. The Chieftains have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bellevue East saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Myers, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Bayler Truax also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Bellevue East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Westview, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.

Westview couldn't quite get it done against Bellevue East when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
