Soccer Game Preview: Willow Spring vs. Corinth Holders

The Willow Spring Storm will challenge the Corinth Holders Pirates at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Willow Spring will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Willow Spring barely beat Cleveland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Storm never let the Rams get on the board and left with a 3-0 win last Wednesday. The result was nothing new for Willow Spring, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Jordan Murdoch and Emerson Leigh scored all three of Willow Spring's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Corinth Holders was a bit more limited in their match last Thursday. They fell just short of Fuquay - Varina by a score of 1-0. Corinth Holders have struggled against Fuquay - Varina recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Willow Spring pushed their record up to 7-2-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those three games. As for Corinth Holders, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3-3.

Willow Spring beat Corinth Holders by a goal in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 2-1. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
