Basketball Recap: Gilmer Piles Up the Points Against Ridgeland

Gilmer won the last time they faced Ridgeland and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Gilmer Bobcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ridgeland Panthers 65-35. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Panthers are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gilmer is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Ridgeland, they dropped their record down to 4-16 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilmer will square off against Calhoun at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilmer is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Ridgeland, they will challenge Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Ridgeland surely won't give up without a fight.
