Softball Game Preview: North Salem Vikings vs. Newberg Tigers

The North Salem Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Newberg Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. North Salem has given up an average of 15.6 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

North Salem's last matchup with South Albany could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest last Monday. The Vikings came up short against the Redhawks, falling 17-5.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Newberg took on Central on Wednesday. The Tigers lost 8-0 to the Panthers.

Newberg's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for North Salem, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

North Salem might still be hurting after the 20-2 loss they got from Newberg in their previous meeting back in March of 2016. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
