Football Recap: Wausa/Osmond Skates Past Boyd County with Ease

Wausa/Osmond put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Boyd County Spartans 42-6. Considering Wausa/Osmond has won three matchups by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Wausa/Osmond got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mac Carlson out in front who rushed for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 26 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards Carlson has posted since back in August of 2024. Matthew Schindler was another key rusher, gaining 68 total yards and three touchdowns.

Wausa/Osmond didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Carlson and Caleb Vinson. With that strong performance, Carlson is now averaging an impressive 104.2 rushing yards per game.

When it comes to explaining why Boyd County lost, don't look at Charlie Adams. Despite the final result, he rushed for 70 yards and one score. Barrett Koenig helped out on the ground, rushing for 100 yards.

Wausa/Osmond's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Boyd County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wausa/Osmond will welcome Bloomfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bees' defense has only allowed 4.5 points per game this season, so Wausa/Osmond's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Boyd County, they will host Niobrara/Verdigre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
