Baseball Recap: Hickory Flat Comes Up Short

Hickory Flat fell victim to Pine Grove and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-0 to the Pine Grove Panthers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat leaves the Rebels still looking for their first win of the season.

Hickory Flat saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Thrasher, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Sam Rakestraw also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Hickory Flat's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Pine Grove, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.

Hickory Flat wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 13-0 defeat against Belmont on the 8th. As for Pine Grove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-2 victory against Alcorn Central on the 8th.
