Baseball Recap: Carson Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Carson had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Robinson on Monday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-3 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in March.

Kendal Sifford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Carson is 5-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Carson Kirk was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4. Corbin Hales was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI.

Carson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Robinson only posted a batting average of .231.

Carson is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Robinson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-11.

Coincidentally, Carson and Robinson will both be playing Concord the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will host the Spiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cougars will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
