Softball Recap: Covington Takes a Loss

Covington fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Milford on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Bearcats. The Trojans' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Alexus Peaslee spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Caydence Peaslee was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Sutherlin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Covington's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Milford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.

Covington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-4 defeat against Southmont on the 28th. As for Milford, they have also already played their next contest, an 11-0 loss against Westville on the 28th.
