Football Game Preview: La Joya Coyotes vs. Hanna Golden Eagles

The La Joya Coyotes will face off against the Hanna Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Coyotes last Thursday. La Joya fell just short of Alice by a score of 27-24. The loss was La Joya's first of the season.

Despite the defeat, La Joya got top-tier performance from Mauricio Mendoza, who rushed for 170 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Mendoza is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season. Luis Arjona got in on the action as well, returning a kick for a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Hanna ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Pioneer 25-22. The Golden Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, La Joya fell to 3-1. As for Hanna, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
