Preview: Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles vs. St. Paul Lutheran Giants
The Eagle Ridge Christian Eagles and the St. Paul Lutheran Giants will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Eagle Ridge Christian is ranked 458th, while St. Paul Lutheran is ranked 450th).
Last Friday, Eagle Ridge Christian strolled past Thomas Jefferson School with points to spare, taking the game 43-26. The win was just what Eagle Ridge Christian needed coming off of a 54-24 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, St. Paul Lutheran's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 56-43 to Arcadia Valley.
Despite the defeat, St. Paul Lutheran had strong showings from Mia Sherrill, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds, and Julie Lunsford, who scored 16 points along with two blocks. Sherrill hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 13 straight games.
Eagle Ridge Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for St. Paul Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Eagle Ridge Christian might still be hurting after the 60-40 loss they got from St. Paul Lutheran when the teams last played back in January of 2021. Can Eagle Ridge Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
