Baseball Recap: Clearview Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Clearview won the last time they faced Cumberland and things went their way on Monday too. The Pioneers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Colts 6-5.

Josh Yurgin tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Clearview's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Alex Muezenberger, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was Muezenberger's first of the season.

Clearview's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-8. As for Cumberland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clearview will welcome Washington Township at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cumberland, they will be playing at home against Triton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
