Baseball Game Preview: New Egypt Warriors vs. Raritan Rockets

The New Egypt Warriors will head out to face off against the Raritan Rockets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. New Egypt will be strutting in after a victory while Raritan will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, New Egypt got the win against Dunellen by a conclusive 13-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Jake Milicia made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Milicia was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aidan Healy, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Lucas Burgos was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

New Egypt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Raritan didn't have quite enough to beat Freehold Township on Saturday and fell 3-2. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Raritan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Melendez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

New Egypt's record is now 6-9-1. As for Raritan, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
