Basketball Game Preview: Boise City Wildcats vs. Balko/Forgan

The Boise City Wildcats will square off against Balko/Forgan at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.

Boise City heads in on the heels of a playoff match last Saturday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 49-27 to Balko/Forgan, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while Balko/Forgan are ranked 110th).

Balko/Forgan's win came from a few key players Boise City will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brya Appelhans, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 11 points and five boards. She has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Haylee Pearson, who posted seven points and five steals.

Balko/Forgan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Balko/Forgan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. This is the second loss in a row for Boise City and nudges their season record down to 10-13.
