Basketball Recap: North Platte Takes a Loss

North Platte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 46-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kearney Bearcats. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, North Platte saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Josie Douglas posted ten points along with seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Douglas a new career-high in assists (four).

North Platte's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Kearney, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

North Platte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-46 loss against Bennington on the 4th. As for Kearney, they will take on Lincoln High at 5:45 p.m. on January 10th.
