Preview: Kimball Knights vs. DeSoto Eagles
Kimball has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. The Kimball Knights and the DeSoto Eagles will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Hopefully Kimball focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Kimball was fully in charge, breezing past Molina 77-21 at home. The victory was just what Kimball needed coming off of a 73-51 defeat in their prior matchup.
Kimball can attribute much of their success to Lekendrick Taylor, who scored 21 points along with five blocks. Another player making a difference was Marri Wickware, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, DeSoto was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-54 to Skyline. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as DeSoto came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Skyline is ranked 649th).
Kimball's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for DeSoto, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
