Softball Recap: Independence Comes Up Short

Independence lost against Memorial back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Independence Knights lost 8-1 to the Memorial Warriors. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Megan McCADDEN made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.

Independence's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Memorial, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Independence and Memorial could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Independence will square off against Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 440 places (823 vs. 383). Meanwhile, Memorial (ranked 527th) will meet Emerson (ranked 257th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
