Baseball Recap: Hartford Indians vs. Bloomingdale Cardinals
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hartford). They put the hurt on the Bloomingdale Cardinals with a sharp 19-1 victory on Thursday. The Indians have beaten the Cardinals the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cardinals has come to flipping the script.
Timmy Wimbley made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). Wimbley was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season.
In other batting news, Josh Dyson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Lovell, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
