Basketball Recap: The Daniel Academy Takes a Loss

The Daniel Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Christian Fellowship, falling 57-16. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 52-17 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2023.

Ariya Barton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Christian Fellowship, dropping a double-double with 16 points and ten assists. That's the most points Barton has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Heston, who had ten points along with seven boards and three steals.

The Daniel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Christian Fellowship, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

The Daniel Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Christian Fellowship, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Plaza Heights Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Plaza Heights Christian Academy comes in on five and Christian Fellowship on three.
