Soccer Recap: Spruce Creek Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Spruce Creek has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the DeLand Bulldogs who were credited with the win on Tuesday. The DeLand Bulldogs got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Spruce Creek Hawks' four. The Hawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 6-1.

Spruce Creek's goal came courtesy of Tanner Mcclelland, who's now up to ten this season.

Spruce Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5-4. As for DeLand, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7-2.

Spruce Creek wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 5-3 win against Seabreeze on the 8th. DeLand has also already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Flagler Palm Coast on the 8th.
