Basketball Game Preview: Carter Cowboys vs. Lincoln Tigers

Carter is 0-10 against Lincoln since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Carter Cowboys will take on the Lincoln Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Carter came up short against Pinkston and fell 46-35.

Meanwhile, Lincoln entered their tilt with Kimball on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They never let the Knights onto the board and left with a 65-0 win. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Knights are ranked 1578th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carter better keep an eye on Ar'Jayla Elder. She was instrumental in Lincoln's win, putting up 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jada Patterson, who posted 12 points.

Lincoln pushed their record up to 29-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points per game. As for Carter, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.

Carter was taken down by Lincoln 68-9 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Carter was down 48-4.
