Preview: Valley Patriots vs. Hedley Owls
Valley is 6-1 against Hedley since January of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Valley Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Hedley Owls at 6:00 p.m. Hedley took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Valley earned a 36-24 victory over Groom. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Valley.
Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kanyon Taylor led the charge by scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Taylor is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayson Cruse, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Hedley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Groom, falling 57-17. Hedley was down 38-13 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Valley is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 18-12 record this season. As for Hedley, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
Everything came up roses for Valley against Hedley in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 79-26 victory. With Valley ahead 40-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
