It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lightridge had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over Independence. The result was nothing new for the Bolts, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Peyton Robinson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lightridge let Lexi Musick and Avery Sullivan run wild. Musick went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Sullivan went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Musick has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Thomas, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Lightridge's record now sits at 20-1. As for Independence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.
