Volleyball Recap: Lehigh Wins Going Away Against Gateway

Lehigh had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Gateway on Thursday. The Lightning put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. The game was the first time the Lightning have beaten the Eagles on their court since September 6, 2022.

Lehigh not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Gateway between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-18, 25-16.

Jayda Fleming went supernova, getting 11 digs, ten kills, and three aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Christian, who had five kills, four digs, and three aces.

The win got Lehigh back to even at 7-7. As for Gateway, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lehigh has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Island Coast on the 1st. As for Gateway, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Oasis on the 27th.
