Basketball Recap: Justin Stamps' Big Game Can't Quite Lead South Delta over West Bolivar

South Delta suffered their closest defeat since December 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the West Bolivar Eagles by a score of 48-45. The Bulldogs' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

South Delta's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Justin Stamps, who posted 11 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Amarion Sanders, who put up eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.

South Delta's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for West Bolivar, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

South Delta will be playing in front of their home fans against West Tallahatchie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That match will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Jayden Sample and Sanders.
