Basketball Recap: Dilley Takes a Loss

Dilley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They had to suffer through a 71-44 loss at the hands of the Cotulla Cowboys. The Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cowboys apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Loss or not, Dilley got some senior leadership from Jacob Lopez and Angel Martinez. Lopez dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds, while Martinez posted six points along with five boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lopez has scored all season.

Dilley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Cotulla, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-7.

Dilley will venture away from home to take on Poteet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cotulla, they will host Crystal City at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Crystal City has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 211 points over their last three games.
