Basketball Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep Chargers vs. Calvary Christian Warriors

Shorecrest Prep hasn't had much luck against Calvary Christian recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Both will face off at 7:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Shorecrest Prep earned a 65-56 win over Northside Christian. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Shorecrest Prep had a senior duo take command as Nickolas Bearden posted 26 points and Ahmad Crumity put up 20 points. The game was Bearden's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Damarion Feaster was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Calvary Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They enjoyed a cozy 61-45 victory over the Spartans. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Spartans are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 19-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Shorecrest Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Shorecrest Prep came up short against Calvary Christian in their previous meeting on January 7th, falling 60-52. Can Shorecrest Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
