Softball Recap: Oak Hill Takes a Loss

Oak Hill fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Gardiner on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Oak Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlee Austin, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Saryn Blais also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Oak Hill now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Gardiner, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

Coming up, Oak Hill will welcome Mountain Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gardiner, they will head out to take on Erskine Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
