Basketball Game Preview: Montebello Oilers vs. El Rancho Dons

The Montebello Oilers will head out on the road to square off against the El Rancho Dons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Montebello has given up an average of 50.5 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Montebello made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Whittier, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Oilers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 65-63 on Saturday. The Oilers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, El Rancho was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 51-46 to Temple City. The Dons haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Montebello's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for El Rancho, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.

Montebello couldn't quite get it done against El Rancho in their previous matchup back in November as they fell 58-48. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Dons' Andrew Morones, who went 9-for-16 en route to 24 points.
