Basketball Recap: Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Find Success

After losing to Upsala the last time they met, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons had just enough and edged the Upsala Cardinals out 57-54. The Falcons' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Despite the loss, Upsala saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zoey Leners dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Soltis, who posted 18 points and six boards.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Upsala, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City has already played their next game (against Renville County West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Upsala will challenge Pillager at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
