Basketball Recap: West Mecklenburg Comes Up Short

West Mecklenburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Hough Huskies and fell 74-22. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-21 back in January.

Hough's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chloe Galombeck, who went 6 of 8 en route to 16 points and three steals. Sophia Zoerb was another key player, going 7 for 12 on her way to 17 points.

West Mecklenburg's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Hough, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-5.

West Mecklenburg has already played their next matchup (against Spartanburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hough will take on West Charlotte at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hough is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.5 points per game this season.
