Softball Recap: Wicksburg Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wicksburg won the last time they faced Zion Chapel and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Rebels with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 24 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Sarah Turvin, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last three contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Dahlia Ganz, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

The win was the third in a row for Wicksburg, bringing their record up to 38-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Zion Chapel, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wicksburg will face off against Ashford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Panthers' favor as the squad sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Yellowjackets have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Zion Chapel, they will take on New Brockton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
