Softball Preview: Westside Warriors vs. Trumann Wildcats
Westside is 9-1 against Trumann since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Westside will face off against Trumann at 4:30 p.m. Westside is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Westside was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bartlett on Saturday. Westside was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Bartlett. Considering the Warriors have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Mckyna Craig was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
Craig wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Vada Watkins, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Trumann was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 8-1 to Pocahontas. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Redskins since on Friday.
Westside's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Trumann, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.
Westside took their victory against Trumann in their previous meeting on March 10th by a conclusive 12-0. Will Westside repeat their success, or does Trumann has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
