Football Recap: South Point Comes Up Short

South Point had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it four. They were beaten by the Gallia Academy Blue Devils 34-7. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pointers of the 49-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Kade 'KJ' McLain threw for 74 yards on nine of 19 attempts. Davon Lewis was his top target, picking up 40 receiving yards.

As for Gallia Academy, their record now sits at 4-6. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Max Canaday was his usual excellent self, rushing for 179 yards and one TD while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also throwing for 59 yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 111 rushing yards. Gallia Academy's leading receiver Parker Burris was Canaday's top target yet again, picking up 39 receiving yards, while also rushing for 57 yards and one score on only seven carries.

As of now, neither South Point nor the Blue Devils have any future games scheduled.
