Basketball Recap: Diamond Hill-Jarvis Comes Up Short

Diamond Hill-Jarvis lost against Eastern Hills back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles were beaten by the Eastern Hills Highlanders 86-53. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-14.

When it comes to explaining why Diamond Hill-Jarvis lost, don't look at Anthony Elizondo. Despite the final result, he went 11 of 18 en route to 33 points. Another player making a difference was Jason White, who posted six points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Messiah Miller, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points along with six assists and five steals. The contest was Miller's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Norice, who went 6 for 7 on his way to 16 points.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis' loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Eastern Hills, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.

Diamond Hill-Jarvis will square off against Benbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Benbrook is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Eastern Hills, they and Southwest will meet in a classic East v. West matchup at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern Hills knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Southwest likes a good challenge.
