Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Citrus Hill's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

It's playoff time, and Citrus Hill had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Highland Bulldogs 6-5. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by just one run.

Gabriel Brion made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Zamora, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Joel Raya, who went 3-for-5 with one run.

Citrus Hill has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for Highland, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-10-1.

Coming up, Citrus Hill will square off against Northwood at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hawks 2.7, the Timberwolves 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
