Meanwhile, Cameron made easy work of Hundred on Monday and carried off a 26-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Billy Patterson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, six RBI, and four runs.
In other batting news, Wes Starcher was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Cameron: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kason Angel, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Cameron always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .745. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Paden City's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Cameron, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-10.
