Volleyball Game Preview: Aberdeen Christian Knights vs. Ellendale Cardinals

The Aberdeen Christian Knights will square off against the Ellendale Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Aberdeen Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, Aberdeen Christian beat Ipswich 3-1.

Aberdeen Christian was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-21, 17-25, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Ellendale was able to grind out a solid win over Wyndmere/Lidgerwood on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1.

The victory didn't come easy: Wyndmere/Lidgerwood scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 16-25, 25-20, 25-19.

Ellendale's win came from a few key players Aberdeen Christian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Alivia Knutson, who had four digs and two aces. What's more, she racked up seven assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Ellendale's win bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Aberdeen Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Aberdeen Christian suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Ellendale in their previous meeting back in October of 2015. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
