Basketball Game Preview: Zalma Bulldogs vs. Egyptian Pharaohs

The Zalma Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Egyptian Pharaohs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Zalma is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game dating back to last season back in November of 2024. They were dealt a 55-28 defeat at the hands of Eagle Ridge Christian.

Meanwhile, Egyptian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 51-36 to Northside Baptist Christian.

Zalma will have to contain Damarion Clark as he made an impact in Egyptian's last game. He posted 22 points. That was a full 61.1% of Egyptian's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Lessar, who had four points and ten rebounds.

Egyptian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Zalma, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Zalma beat Egyptian 50-38 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Zalma since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
